Coalport Aesthetic period cabaret set

Coalport - c.1880
 
This fantastic cabaret set was made by Coalport in the aesthetic style, a design movement that was heavily influenced by the decorative and fine arts of Asia. 
 
Here we see the influence of blue and white Chinese porcelain and motifs known as diaper pattern. They have been used alongside more European bombe and quatrefoil shapes and finished with very English looking butterfly finials.
