Georgian silver mustard pot

Georgian silver mustard pot

Robert & David Hennell - London 1798

This lovely barrel mustard pot is made by the long-standing Georgian silversmithing family, the Hennells. In this case Robert and David. Assayed in London in 1798 it still retains its original gilding.

Not strictly of neo classical style it does have a simplicity and elegance associated with the period but is more about playing on the novelty value of resembling a commonplace item such as a barrel.

Condition: Excellent - visible seam along the back from manufacture and some age related wear
