This highly unusual mustard pot is in the shape of a cauldron and is supported on three conical feet with a hinged swing handle. The handle is individually hallmarked, a sign of its quality.

Novelty silver table items were very popular in the first few decades of the 20th century as talking points for the dinner table. Other novelty items included menu holders, pepper pots and salts.

 

Condition: Good condition, slight warp to the lid.
