Pair of Royal Worcester aesthetic movement vases
£3,750.00Price
Royal Worcester - 1872
Designed from stylised hybrid of Chinese and Japanese sources the shape as well as the bird, crane and foliage moulded decoration evoke the motifs of the Far East. It was usual for the Victorians to blend styles and influences from other cultures, paying tribute to the nations diverse and rich cultural output.
This pair of moon flasks are highly unusual and to get the pair is even rarer. The use of gold and bronze to crates depth and texture to the design is particularly fine and vases such as these are considered the height of Royal Worcester’s production in the 1870s.
