Pair of silver mounted Royal Doulton spill vases
£495.00Price
Royal Doulton - 1910. Silver mounts by George Betjemann & Sons. London, 1910
Highly unusual pair of boxed spill vases with hand painted roses by Enoch Wood. The vases are finished with scrolling raised gilding around the bases and at the top of the necks, framing the edges where the white and green ground colours meet. It is not very common to come across silver mounted porcelain in this way which along with the fact they retain their original silk and velvet lined box, make these vases particularly rare.
Enoch Wood was an accomplished flower painter at Royal Doulton and his signature appears on the lower half of each vase
Both vases are in immaculate condition having it seems always to have been kept in their velvet lined box.
