Ridgway plate painted with gooseberries

This dessert plate captures the excellent still-life painting that Ridgway were expert at in the first half of the 19th century. The moulded plate with its flower heads and floral gilding surrounds a bunch of perfectly executed gooseberries complete with dew drops and insects.
The border of the plate with coloured with a classy grey ground that accentuates the painting in the centre.
 
Condition: Very good condition, minor wear to the gilding in one or two places.
