Royal Worcester blushware shell dish

Royal Worcester - 1915
The cream ground, known as ‘blush’, is delicately hand painted on the inside with brightly coloured flowers and greenery.
The main shell, based on a giant clam shell, is supported on three conch shells, all probably modelled from life. The crisp detail of the shells surface is accentuated by the graduated colour of the blush tones that change from light ivory to a pink cream. The detail and modelling is the shell is superb, each contour sharp and precise.
This piece makes quite a statement and the gilded highlights add a finishing flourish.
Condition: Very good - minor wear to the gilding on a few places
