Samson teapot in the manner of early Worcester
£295.00Price
Samson, Paris - c.1850
Most probably made by Samson in the mid 19th century, this Worcetser style teapot is not merely faking the earlier English examples but paying tribute to the designs of the Worcester pieces and catering to the interest in France at the time in English porcelain.
The hand painted flowers and classical urn, the same in both sides, is very good quality and the benefit of this teapot is that the hard paste porcelain from which it is made will withstand the hot water in a way soft paste will not.
