This smaller scale cup and cover is exquisitely cast and chased with a variety of motifs including acanthus leaves, grapes, vine leaves and ‘foliage’. It’s classic shape shows the endurance of this style well into the 20th century.

Cups and covers have a long history in the world of silver and examples date back centuries. They became popular as racing prizes in the 18th century and the tradition continues today.
