This late eighteenth century helmet shaped cream jug is by the distinguished Hennell family of silversmiths. The bright cut decoration is very characteristic of the neo classical period and shows a refined elegance associated with the middle of George III's reign. This jug shows scrolling acanthus, swags and bows around a cartouche engraved with a 'D'
Condition: Overall very good condition, there has been a professional repair to the handle.
