Turquoise and pearl necklace

Turquoise and pearl necklace

£395.00Price

English - c.1900

A very elegant early 20th century Art Nouveau necklace featuring turquoise and pearls.

Formed in two sections with a pearl studded foliate cross bar, hanging from which is a turquoise and pearl foliate feature pendent. The lower part of the pendent is set with four beautifully matched turquoises and shows a delicate intricacy, characteristic of this period. The piece is finished off with a slightly unusual variant of a belcher chain.

Hallmarks: The necklace is marked in four different places, once on the clasp, once on the cross bar, and twice on the leaves of the pendent - see photos.

Weight: 35 grams

Condition: There are no condition issues. The piece has a lovely aged patina and the there is a good lustre to the pearls. All pearls and stones are securely set and there do not appear to be any replacements. There is a little tarnish on the back of the cross bar visible in the photos.
